gNewSense should be getting all updates for packages in main and 
universe, unless there's something non-free about them. I think 
gNewSense's gstreamer is the same as Ubuntu's, so there should be no 
problem. Do you happen to know the number of the bug report or the name 
and version number of the package that fixed it?
