I know that the FSF uses (or wanted to use) gNewSense on their servers
and long ago I looked at making an installer for gNewSense but
personal issues stopped my research into that.

Gobuntu uses the alternative installer and IIRC the goal was to base
off of Gobuntu. It seems pretty logical to me that we WILL have
gNS-ized installer from Gobuntu, and then build the LiveCD's from
that. Of course, this is only my understanding and not canon, so
please take that with a grain of salt.
