Would it be possible to add the words:

Currently assigned to:

to the bug reports.  This would enable us to contact whomever the bug
is assigned to, for info.

For example, bug 111 is open, seems to have a relatively straight
forward solution, yet seems to be awaiting action.  Although it is
easy to see who raised the bug, it's not obvious whether anyone is
trying to close it.

I hope you see what I mean.
