Nope - I am using a gNewSense kernel.

I did try to download linux-wlan-ng to try to make yet another USB wifi card work (Ashton-Digital Air Dash WRB-2077i which, I think, has a prism2_usb supported chipset).

I have to tell you that I am really getting desperate.  NO wifi card I tried worked, with or without ndiswrapper, and now my dselect is useless, so I cannot install anything or even update my system.  I am really running out of options here and I am getting desperate.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Andrei, are you using a non-gnewsense kernel?

I see the prism2_usb module in your kernel and from what I understand
that module calls Firmware... Either you're using a non-gnewsense
kernel or you've "discovered" an instance of non-free software in
gNewsense...

I'm not a kernel hacker, but I have a hunch as to what happened - I'm
not going to mention it here because I'm probably wrong and don't know
how to fix it if I knew what was wrong...

Anyone with more kernel skills have info for me?
