[gNewSense-users] OT - where did this 'burning dog' name come from?

Hi,

I am just curious - why "burning dog"?  It does not bother me in the least, but it does sound like some poor animal has been set on fire, does it not?  (which at least fire fox does not).  Would something like blazing wolf (-: or - better - scintillating canid :-) not sound less RSPCA-provoking?

How was that name picked?
