Sorry, I going to have to ask a question here as I find your reply a bit odd.
Do you use gNewSense?
If you do, then it's very easy to see whether Xine is included, simply by
opening a package manager (or using apt-cache search) and searching for it.
Xine is (of course!!!) included in gNewSense and, as commented on elsewhere,
there's no earthly reason for removing the wonderful Amarok.
