The majority of the world prefers hosted webapp MUAs to any other
kind. Google's email webapp has the best usability, features, storage
and speed.

Some features are just nice to have 'out of the box,' like keen
antispam. Some of the features like integration with their jabber
network are quite big leaps in how a MUA is used. And because the
whole mail spool is available over POP3, you have the ability to move
away at any time, so moving away is less of a priority than it might
otherwise be.

Webapps are the most serious threat to free software, because they
make the whole local machine the equivalent of microcode.
