It would still be possible for someone to "do it" (install non-free
software) without any instructions.  If the instructions did not
exist, there's a chance that someone who does it will write and
publish instructions which probably won't mention the dangers of
following them (as they probably don't think there's any problem with
surrendering their freedom, else they wouldn't have done so).

In other words, if the instructions did not exist and there's enough
desire to do the action, the instructions will be created and you'll
have a lot less influence over them.

At least if we write the instructions, we can include an explaination
why installing non-free software is a temporary sticking-plaster
non-solution and we can suggest how they could help create a free
software solution.
