It's only free software related insofar as being about something that happens 
to contain free software. You're ignoring the promotion of non-free software.

The list has a topic. Promotion of non-free software events is off-topic. That 
we have a topic and ask that people stick to it does exclude people from 
talking off-topic. So you're correct, we're excluding some forms of 
participation. Do you have a problem with that?

I know, the world contains free software, talk about anything you like on the 
list!
