Thanks for the info.  I think import would be from the FOAF file like
http://identi.ca/mjray/foaf rather than over OStatus itself.

Until these services actually get export/import working, I suspect
that the benefits of federation won't be realised by many.  Currently
status.net posters to identi.ca are treated as second-class citizens,
harder for identizens to reply to because the status.net site hosting
the original notice can't see you're logged in at identi.ca.  The
wall-like page of diaspora or friendika could be a better model, but
it's too tedious to move my network to one of them. :-/
