Hi
as some of you know I'm involved with the planning of a day of digital
opportunities for the arts at Contact Theatre on Saturday 4th December
- a mix of workshops, presentations, performances, installations and
an "unconference" element.

After conversations with a few people there are 4 themes for the
unconference...

- Digital Storytelling
- Curation in a digital age
- Tech2Create (e.g. 3D printers, Arduinos, generative software)

and

- Is the arts....open?

I'm wanting that session to kickstart a discussion around open source,
open data and open innovation and how relevant they are for the arts.
Each session will have two "provocations" - I'm going to try and get
someone from Cornerhouse for one of these - about becoming an "open
organisation" - but would like someone to maybe talk for five minutes
about how the arts might Open its data and what the benefits might be.
It could be about data (a la scraperwiki) or it could be about opening
their "archives".

Any thoughts or interest? Get in touch if you want to know more. We'll
be publicising the event (which is free) from next week.

Best
Adrian
