Follow-up Comment #3, bug #25092 (project duplicity):

Please find attached the log file. Surprisingly for me, duplicity just ran
two seconds until it gave this error message. When this error occurred for the
first time, it took duplicity more than an hour to get to this state. It
obviously seems to have cached the files it has looked at the last time.

>From the log it seems to think that last time it successfully generated a
backup, but

$ ls -la /media/BACKUP/Christian/
total 64
drwxr-xr-x 2 cs root 32768 2008-12-13 16:39 .
drwxr-xr-x 6 cs root 32768 1970-01-01 01:00 ..

reveals that it didn't. Maybe also interesting for this run:

$ ulimit -a
