Follow-up Comment #1:

You don't specify what version you are running or if your are doing full
backups or incremental.

In 0.4.12 this issue was addressed, however, if you encrypt the full backup,
then during an incremental duplicity will need a password so it can read the
previous backup information.

The current version is 0.5.02.
