Details:
Duplicity is having reproducible crashes on one of my machines:
1. Running Debian Etch with Duplicity 0.4.10.
2. Do a full backup over an existing backup.
3. Verify data with Duplicity - crash occurs
No crash after doing a full backup not over existing backup. I had the same
problem with an earlier version of Duplicity, so I upgraded to 0.4.10.
The problem does not occur on another machine running Kubuntu 7.10.
This is script used for backups:
---------------
#!/bin/bash
LOCAL="/"
REMOTE_HOST="backup.simpson.home"
REMOTE_DIR="backup"
/usr/local/bin/duplicity -v5 --no-encryption \
--full-if-older-than 1M \
--include ${HOME} \
--exclude '**' \
${LOCAL}
scp://address@hidden/${REMOTE_DIR}
/usr/local/bin/duplicity remove-all-but-n-full 2 \
-v5 --no-encryption \
--force \
scp://address@hidden/${REMOTE_DIR}
---------------
The crash occurs after one month (1M) when new full backup is done. I have
encoutered this over two consecutive months now.
This is the result of verify:
duplicity verify -v4 --no-encryption --include /home/asimpson --exclude '**'
scp://address@hidden/backup /
Last full backup date: Sun May 4 09:41:52 2008
Difference found: File home/asimpson has mtime Sun May 4 10:00:02 2008,
expected Sun May 4 09:41:31 2008
