[uniq - SUGGESTION] --check-fields option? |

To all,
One option that I would have dearly loved to have in
the past is an option to compare only *leading* fields
or, ideally, a range of fields. Traditional uniq only
allowed comparing trailing fields (cf. --skip-fields),
and gnu uniq now allows to ignore either leading or
trailing *chars* (--skip-chars, --check-chars). However
there is no corresponding "--check-fields" switch.
Thanks for your time and effort to make these tools possible!
