hi there,
iv been using the xterm through the Linux (mandrake
distribution)
and i had some problems in using the cat
command
well its not really considered as a bug but i cant
find a way to use CAT
heres the prob:
i wana do a shell script:and the ook
says:
mkdir ~/bin
then,
use the cat command to create a script in your
~/bin directory called genreport
i type:
cat ~/bin/genreport
get an error saying: no file or
directory existed
i try to use the touch command to make that
(genreport) 1st which doesnt really seems to help.
the actual result has to be:
address@hidden bin]$cat
~/bin/genreport
cat /etc/passwd > passwd'date
+%Y%m'
<CTRL+D>
but that doesnt happen over here
i think i explained alot over here and i hope that
ill get good answers from u
and thank u.
