You're probably still busy (and that's okay), but I wanted you to know
that I came up with a recstat implementation that does support
aggregates (though not mixed with normal counting in the same record).
This has the benefit, that field expressions remain regexp-parseable.

On a somewhat related note, mixing queries and aggregations is
currently broken in both recsel and recstat.  Instead of reporting e.g.
the number of emails any person named "Bob" has, the total number of
emails is reported.  I've attached a minimal "working" example to prove
my point.
