I was confused by an error message when running in the de_DE locale:
xx.rec:1: Fehler: Nur ein %rec-Feld im Datensatzdeskriptor zul??ssig
which translated means "Error: Only one %rec field in the data descriptor is
allowed"
This was confusing, because my data descriptor did indeed have only one %rec
field.
After a lot of timewasting, I realised that this was a cut and paste error by
the German
translator. It should have said "%key" instead of "%rec" .
A grep of recutils.pot shows there are three almost identical translated
strings:
msgid "%s:%s: error: only one %%key field is allowed in a record descriptor\n"
msgid "%s:%s: error: only one %%size field is allowed in a record descriptor\n"
msgid "%s:%s: error: only one %%sort field is allowed in a record descriptor\n"
I suggest that these are all changed so that the %%xxx is replaced with a %s
printf directive.
This has the advantages that:
* Cut and paste errors like the above are less likely.
* There will be two less strings which require translation.
