For some reason people doesn't seem to test daily snapshot as well as
they would test something explicitly labeled 'release candidate'.  In my
experience it doesn't even help to ask people to consider a particular
daily snapshot a release candidate.  Of course, the majority of people
will wait for the final release to test anything, but we can't do much
about that (well, we can release more often to make it a smaller
problem).

However, what we can do is simply upload your generated tar archive to
alpha.gnu.org and call _that_ a release candidate.  Alfred?
