The pty stuff doesn't work on Mac OS X, and I have a proposed patch to
fix it on the gnulib list.  However I don't think Mac OS X is important;
it is much more important to do a release as soon as possible.  So if
nobody else has any serious show-stopper, I'm all for making a release.

Maybe you could make a pre-release so people can test that?
