I think, I'm leaning toward Sergey 8-).
I'll just try and convince you then, and convert you to the true
editor! :-)
I'm not really convince with your arguments, especially when
regenerating the file is a one liner "./autogen.sh".
Well, it is a one liner indeed, but the thing is when you don't have
the right autoconf/automake installed, or simple don't have either
installed. I guess I would be happy if there was a snapshot made of
the CVS tree once in a while with all the generated files.
And secondly, I have this bad habit of changing the Makefile{,.in}
for a quick test followed by a "cvs commit ." ... which is a world
of trouble if I do not pay attention.
I often touch Makefile to do some hack, but never .in... And when I
commit things, I mark the files which I wish to commit and don't
commit the whole tree. Different ways of working it seems.
