Agreed.

Well, I doubt if it should be propagated back. The fact is, most of
the libinetutils functions still use err() and errx(), so it was not
logical to drop in the sources for error(). I just used err() where the
original xmalloc.c used error(). If we choose to switch to error() it
can be done at once in all the sources.
