I just tested it and it works for me.  Can you try again with the new
version and if it still fails give more information
(running ftpd in debug mode [-d] or use gdb to find out what happens)?

I don't think support for devfs has been implemented yet, but you might try
the latest version anyway.  Do you want to do it?
