Sounds good :)  Maybe this is something for Jeffs
what's-it-called-again-it-is-supposed-to-be-similar-to-libiberty-but-for-everyone
even (as is a lot in libinetutils).

The sad truth is that I had this in my head for a while but never got to
write it down.  I don't have any code that's not in CVS, sorry.
