Can you post a small file? PgUp works only on files that have comments like %%Page and that have the prolog separated correctly. Regards, William

Subject: [bug-gv] gv fails when navigating back and forth

Hi,

I've the problem that whenever I open a multi-page postscript file
with gv I can only go forward through the pages. Whenever I press
the PgUp key to go to the previous page, it it shown blank. If
I press PgUp again, the previous page shows sth. like:

ERROR:
typecheck
OFFENDING COMMAND:
put
STACK:
--nostringval
/Context
--nostringval
--nostringval
111
--nostringval
110

The same happens when I jump to any page by clicking on the page number
with the mouse. The first click shows the page fine. Clicking the same
page number again shows a blank page, the next click the above error
command, the next click a blank page and the following click the correct
page output. I can repeat that circle as often as I want.

This problem didn't exist always, it started maybe a year ago. As gv
hasn't changed I guess it's some library it relies on. I'm using gv-3.7.4
as shipped with SuSE Linux Enterprise 15, but also downloaded the version
from the gv webpage and compiled it. Same problem.

Can anyone reproduce this? Maybe it's a SuSE-specific problem?!

cu,
Frank
