Summary:  zoom do not work for PDF 1.4

Original Submission:  Open a PDF document, gv keeps on while when zooming using 
the middle-mouse-button.

GV remains on loop, showing the wait-clock cursor, but doing nothing.

This works fine on PS files.

PDf 1.4 is not fully supported by gv, and PDF 1.5 is not supported at all.

zooming seems to work with pdf version 1.2 and 1.3, but not with pdf version 
1.4.

I experimented a bit with the following results:

- Zooming in pdf files generated by pdflatex do not work
  (%PDF-1.4).

- Zooming in pdf files generated by Adobe Acrobat Distiller     5.0 do work.
   (%PDF-1.3).

Could you please to experiment zooming in several pdf files of distinct 
versions (1.3 and 1.4)?

This bug is also present on Debian gv 3.5.8
