ATM I'm thinking about either sourceforge or ibiblio as hosts.
ibiblio sounds better to me. sourceforge have too many issues surrounding them now for me, including their deviation from their open source / free software roots, and their flagging service (no more ftp servers, not as many perl modules about, very unreliable web servers in terms of speed). what about gnu's sourceforge - savannah?
For this one - nothing snappy yet. Free Data Digest? Not very memorable is it ;-)Do you have any suggestions for a name for the porject ?
Incedentally, I was thinking of founding a network which would work to bring together all the various projects out there dedicated to "freeing information", including everything2, nupedia, gutenberg, etc. It would link the sites together under a common banner (and agenda), and promote the network by any means possible. I'm not too sure how I'd achieve this, what the aims would be, how "official" and financially involved it would become, but it's an idea floating around in my head. I'm always thinking of how I come across great projects, and what a shame it is that it takes me so long to reach them, by such luck. The network could be called the "Free Information Network (FIN)" which lends well to logos ;-)
Does anybody have any experience of such a thing? Any thoughts/comments to share?
Tom
