Can anyone there provide me with details of the origin of the name of
this command please?
Some say that it comes from "copy and convert", but `cc' was taken so
it got named `dd' instead. Other say that it comes from the JCL
command `dd' (including its wonderful command line syntax), where it
stands for "data definition".
This information is probobly inaccurate, since it comes from my memory
(jeez, I'm this old?)...
