Hi Folks,

Just wanted to let you know that the ACIP has released their final
report on the Review of the Innovation Patent System.

I'm looking forward to reading the full report and writing up a few
thoughts and future steps (currently busy with a brand new baby). From a
quick skim, it's a great result in that the report clearly reflects our
concerns about software patents in general, as well as innovation patents.

Thanks very much to everyone who submitted/participated in the ACIP
original Issues Paper back in August 2011, the recent Options Paper in
August 2013 and the subsequent round-tables.

These processes move slowly enough that you'd be forgiven for forgetting
they are still in motion, but if you search for "software" in the final
report PDF, you'll see that your efforts have been worth it.
