Thanks for your feedback, Andrew.
TBH, the plugin API was done during a GSOC project and after that nobody ever
used it. So it may have rough edges and inconsistencies. I wish I could spend
some time to polish it and make the UX/DX better.
The python based plugin API is a great idea and I see it's value even when
rarely using Python myself.
Storing the mime type into the xattrs is something I'd like to do.
