I tried that, spent some time on resolving
*** error: gettext infrastructure mismatch: using a Makefile.in.in from
gettext version 0.20 but the autoconf macros are from gettext version 0.19
and gave up. I asked Enzo if the patch I submitted was identical to his,
to which he agreed, and created the MR.
I had a look at the source and think that it's the use of strtok() which
gets rid of the trailing slash without anybody noticing.
I'll try and get a local build on one of my VMs.
