This project seems to be bringing new blood to wget, and a good "fork"(re-write 
to be precise) like this is very welcome by the community. Thanks for the good 

As wget is included in most distros by default, merging wget2 back into wget 
might expand user base by a few orders of magnitude. Is it ever planned? Is it 
even possible? As wget2 also (like wget) seems a FSF (supported?) project 
according to the Project overview page, was backward-compatibility breaking 
changes the motive to start from scratch?

p.s. By replace, I mean something like the `gpg` routine: `gpg` now points to 
`gnupg2` in Debian, where `gnupg1` is also available but is not installed by
