@sebman Just a tiny hint and a convention for when you work with git..

Always do your own work in a separate branch. On gitlab, the `master` branch is 
protected by default, but the others are not.
So, if you had pushed to any other branch, the above commands would have worked.

This also has the advantage that if master changes while your MR is being 
worked on, or if we make some tiny changes to the commit, then it doesn't cause 
merge conflicts on your master as well
