Details:

1.  Go to a channel with a long topic and colours in it. 
(#strawberrymintsubs on irc.rizon.net is a perfect example).

2.  type /topic, and hit TAB until it allows you to modify the topic.

3.  Notice that the cursor position is not at the end of the topic, but
somewhere near the start.  Notice also that hitting HOME or END, or moving the
cursor with the arrow keys, shows that the cursor position is incorrect as
when you go to the "end" of the topic, the cursor is still somewhere in the
middle of the entire topic.

This makes it impossible to accurately modify a topic with colours in it.
