This one seems to be worked around by adding
(b64 "base64" "base64 -d --ignore-garbage")
to tramp-remote-coding-commands. I put it second in the list. I'm not
sure which of the other commands is crashing OpenSolaris, but it would
be good to get them a better bug report than
