From https://www.qt.io/blog/2019/08/07/technical-vision-qt-6

I learned that Qt 6.0 may be ready for a first release by the end of 2020.

And GNU TeXmacs is still using Qt 4.

Personally, I hope that GNU TeXmacs can switch to Qt 5 before the release of Qt 6.0 .

It would be a heavy burden to maintain C++ code that work for both Qt 4 and Qt 5.

I suggest that once we switch to Qt 5, we may stop support Qt 4 and start experimental support for Qt 6.
