I've tried upgrading gettext Glad you found the problem. gettext updates are always a hassle. FWIW, the basic thing I always did was "gettextize -f -c", as noted in configure.ac. I never used autopoint. Maybe there is a bit more in ChangeLog entries from previous updates ... -k
