[Taler] Question about community payment systems

Hello Taler community,

I hope this is a good place to ask this. The website (taler.net) says that Taler "[e]mpowers communities to run their own payment infrastructure". I was wondering if there's any documentation on this use case specifically, like usage examples or case studies?

Can I, for example, run a Taler network(?) or instance(?) for my neighbourhood, for local stores, etc? I'm sorry if this question has been answered before, I just couldn't find anything in my search on the website.
