BTW I'm getting the libglade-warning as well:
"(synaptic:1537): libglade-WARNING **: unknown property `new_group' for class
`GtkAlignment'" but here it's just a harmless warning and doesn't crash,
renaming /root/.synaptic directory doesn't affect that.
