gcj in Solaris

Am I right in thinking that using gcj to compile JavaSwarm and associated 
applications in Solaris is not possible because of a problem with libffi? Any 
idea of what the likelihood is of it getting sorted out? And if the answer is 
"not very", what would be involved with sorting it out?
