However, I'd prefer to tweak the text a bit:
Kawa is best known as a fast Scheme implementation for the Java platform.
It compiles Scheme to optimized Java bytecodes. It is also a general
framework for implementing
dynamic languages, and includes a full implementation of XQuery 1.0 and
incomplete
implementations of Common Lisp and Emacs Lisp (JEmacs).
