Strange sound with Alsa

Dear team,

We're writing a module for Voxygen, a high quality TTS developped by a 
french company. This module use speech-dispatcher functions to play samples.

It works fine with pulseaudio, however if we use only alsa it makes 
strange sound. I didn't noticed any problem with other TTS, even with 
Kali module which I wrote.

Have you met that problem with any module?
