It depends what you mean by cleanly. Espeak supports three modes,
none, some and all. In the case of "some", the user can specify which
punctuation characters are spoken via the configuration file. In the
espeak output module, there is an option fir this. In the
espeak-generic module, take a look at the command that calls espeak
and change the --punct option.
However, if espeak does not know the name of a punctuation character
in the current language, you are out of luck. The solution in this
situation is to "teach" espeak itself how to pronounce it.
