hm, what i'm seeing is that db4.8_stat -CA hangs itself, within a
similar futex call:
0 zimmermann:~# strace -p $(pidof db4.8_stat)
Process 10283 attached - interrupt to quit
futex(0x7f0b480aa358, FUTEX_WAIT, 2, NULL^C <unfinished ...>

0 zimmermann:~#
I let it wait on that syscall for several minutes before ^C'ing it. :(
how long should i expect to wait for db4.8_stat -CA to return?
