Sorry for the late reply.

As you've probably seen by now, the default syntax for Skribilo documents is an 
extension of the R5RS Scheme syntax.  See

The main extension is square brackets, which make it easy to enter literal 
strings (Scribble, for instance, uses a different extension for that purpose).

Guile-Reader is a tool that makes it easy to build readers for such derived 
Lisp syntaxes.
