Would it be possible to merge the v4 and v5 branches?

I think GNU screen's development is stable enough that a single
branch containing all features would reduce unnecessary
backporting overhead and would also allow distributions and users
to always use the latest features. Specific unstable features
could still be contained in separate branches.

Regarding features for the new release, I'd like to see my
hardcopy encoding patch (Subject: Re: [screen-devel] [PATCH]
:hardcopy: handle encoding (Was: Hardcopy uses ISO-8859-1),
Message-ID: <address@hidden>) included. I
know that you plan to rewrite that part of the code, but I guess
that'll still take a while and I'd really like to see that bug
fixed.
