Attaching Scren to a stopped process

Hi , 
    I do attach screen to the process , but the
problem is that one of the threads in the process
receives a SIGSTOP signal and then the screen
terminates ( attachment between the screen and process
terminates) 

anyway to circumvent this or is there any option in
screen command that can help to solve this
