It happens to me all the time. Though I can't tell you WHY(code-wise)
I do know that changing the TERM to xterm-color or linux solves the
problem. I just added a line in my shell rc filse to change the TERM
to xterm-color everytime it starts. Haven't had a problem with it in
screen since.
