Details:
As far as i can tell, screen sends the sequence
ESC [ ? 2 0 0 4 h BEL
to enable bracketed-paste mode. That last BEL character causes macOS'
Terminal.app to beep. Why is it sent? Terminal.app does not need it and
neither does xfce4-terminal.
I can't test a real xterm right now, because I can't figure out how to paste
in it with a Mac mouse. =)
