Details:
screen doesn't provide any error when it can't creaty pty
It prints "No more PTYs." when it can't start new windows, but it doesn't even
print that when starting (creating first window), because it quits too fast.
Maybe create some sort of error buffer which is printed when screen exits due
to failure?
